Spring Break Workshop Series 2013

Quiggly’s Spring Break workshops are offered the week of March 11 – 15, from 10am – 12pm. Workshop activities include pottery wheel, canvas painting, and glass fusion **WAX HANDS INCLUDED IN EVERY WORKSHOP** (see our exciting project guide below)!
Register for one workshop only for $35. Register for two or more workshops and pay only $29 each! This discount applies for children attending two or more different workshops, as well as for parents registering two or more children. Register online, in person or over the phone!
Workshops are designed for both children as young as 4 years, and their parents of any age! (Parents are not required to remain during the workshop). First-timers will be guided through every activity step-by-step. Those with experience fusing glass or spinning pots will be challenged to engage in creative thinking and problem solving to design and execute projects that align with the workshop objectives and materials use, but may digress from the described end-product as defined below. (That’s “Mr. Kirby-talk” for “if you have done this before, you’re gonna have a great time!”) Please don’t hesitate to register today!
****SESSION FULL**** MONDAY, MARCH 11: POTTERY WHEEL, CLAY SCULPTING & SLIP PAINTING *AND WAX HANDS!
Spin with Mr. Kirby and the Quiggly's Crew and learn to “throw on the wheel” and make slip-painted clay creatures. Typically we do not fire or paint the sculptures- but this year is different! We will paint the sculptures with clay slip during the workshop and will fire the clay sculpted item in addition to the wheel thrown pottery! It's perfect for beginners and our “seasoned” participants.
****SESSION FULL**** TUESDAY, MARCH 12: GLASS FUSION *AND WAX HANDS!
Experience the Joy of building your own puzzle in glass! We will create Hot Air Balloon on our glass in a mosaic pattern of color! Mr. Kirby and Mrs. Kristi recently have some left over awesomeness. Projects will be 6” x 6” fusible into sushi trays, wall-hanging plaques, or hot plates. The choice is YOURS! (AND you do not have to create this exact scene. You can mix it up!
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 13: CANVAS PAINTING *AND WAX HANDS
Paint canvas "quilts" inspired by the Russian Artist Wassily Kandinsky! It is a fun “make-and-take” activity everyone loves! Children attending this workshop use acrylic paints on rigid 11" x 14 " canvas panels. During a step-by-step approach, children learn to mix color, blend color and layer color using various brush strokes and brush types to create a composition you’ll want to hang in your home!
THURSDAY, MARCH 14: CANVAS PAINTING *AND WAX HANDS
Paint Springtime canvases using hands, fingerprints and brushes to create a beautiful personalized project! Canvas painting is a fun “make-and-take” activity everyone loves! Children attending this workshop use acrylic paints on rigid 11" x 14 " canvas panels. During a step-by-step approach, children learn to mix color, blend color and layer color using various brush strokes and brush types to create a composition you’ll want to hang in your home!
***Session Full**** FRIDAY, MARCH 15: POTTERY WHEEL & CLAY SCULPTING *AND WAX HANDS!
